What happens when the draw countdown runs out?

The draw closure countdown reaches 00:00:00 every Tuesday and Friday at 19:00 CET. This is a very important moment before every Euromillions draw. However, this IS NOT the time of the draw. The Euromillions draw happens later at the same day, usually at 21:00 CET.

Let's illustrate what will happen on an example. Let's say it's Tuesday, 19:00 CET:

  1. It is no longer possible to buy tickets that will be played in the current day's draw. (Tuesday). Any ticket that is bought after the closure time will be played in the next-next draw, in our case on Friday.
  2. Recurring tickets
    1. If there are any active recurring (unlimited number of draws) tickets, that are not paid, we'll try to pay them by deducting their price for the current day's draw from your account balance.
    2. If there is not enough money on your account balance to cover the cost of all your active recurring tickets, we'll charge your credit card according to your subscription, usually for 5 draws of your recurring ticket in advance.
    3. If we fail to cover the costs of a recurring ticket, this ticket is automatically cancelled, together with associated credit card subscription, and will require your action to be re-activated.
  3. Now, when all tickets for the current day's draw (Tuesday) are properly paid, we deliver them to the Euromillions authorities for lottery submission.
  4. The counter resets and starts to count down time to the Friday's draw closure.
